Pictures Last Longer was my body of work created between the years of 2005 and 2009.  The work was started right after I finished grad school and the majority of the work was made for my first solo show which opened in 2007 at Deitch Projects.  The themes of these works mostly revolved around the somewhat perverse relationships we have with nature as we interact with it through technological means but can mostly be identified by the particular palette that I used to paint the figures. A lot of these are extremely large paintings. The smallest paintings, like the portraits, are about 48”x 72”, while the landscapes are up to 13 feet wide.
